Romantic tips and ideas

That first date can be the most awkward. Of course, you are most likely complete strangers and it may take a few more dates to get to know each other really well. However, it doesn’t hurt to make a lasting impression on your date. Here are some romantic tips and ideas that may work well for you from a gal’s point of view:

1. Be yourself. The problem with the courting stage is men always put their best foot forward as they try to hard to impress their dates. Believe me, we women can sense when a guy is trying to be overzealous.
2. Learn more about her. Ask common questions even as silly as her favorite color or her favorite food. That’s one way to find out if you click.
3. Bite your tongue when you notice you’ve been blabbing too much about yourself. The last thing we want is a conceited guy who loves only himself.
4. Take her to some place cozy and comfortable. Think wholesome. Sleazy bars and loud discos are a big no-no for a first date.
5. Remember to compliment her looks. We love being admired sincerely.
6. Think simplicity. A picnic at the park, stargazing, or strolling can create a lasting impact.

“Men are from Mars, women are from Venus.” This statement is so true. Men and women are so far apart when it comes to their needs and wants that they might as well be from different planets. Men prefer practicality and predictability, whereas women long for sensitivity, sentimentality and romance. Most relationships go awry when men are not sensitive to women’s needs and vice versa.

It is important for both men and women to create romance and keep the love alive by accepting their differences but, at the same time, cherishing the many reasons they are together. The spark will always be there when the romance is kept alive. There are 101 ways to be a romantic and you do not have to be born a romantic to be one. It need not cost much either. The key is your willingness to express your love to your significant other in creative ways and to think out of the box to keep him or her amused and in love with you.

Poems Of Love

Women want romance. Many, in fact, demand romance from their unsuspecting husbands. But men have a hard time being romantic. Even the most unromantic guy can impress his wife with a special gesture. If you’re not a writer or a poet, composing a poem about your wife may seem impossible. Don’t struggle to think of romantic things to say–woo your wife by reciting a love poem written by a professional poet,

Poet John Donne (1572-1631) wrote this poem for his wife:

Only Our Love

Only our love hath no decay;
This, no tomorrow hath, nor yesterday,
Running it never runs from us away,
But truly keeps his first, last, everlasting day.

This poem by William Butler Yeats (1865-1939) will be sure to pull at her heart strings:

He Wishes For The Cloths Of Heaven

Had I the heavens’ embroidered cloths,
Enwrought with the golden and silver light,
The blue and the dim and the dark cloths
Of night and light and the half-light,
I would spread the clothes under your feet:
But I, being poor, have only my dreams;
I have spread my dreams under your feet;
Tread softly because you tread on my dreams.

Let’s face it—the economy isn’t the best right now and many of us are struggling just to make ends meet. But that doesn’t mean we have to eliminate the romance from our lives. In the past dating has meant expensive dinners and fancy bouquets of roses, but in tight times we need to redefine what dating means to us. Dating is about romance and finding love, but it doesn’t have to mean massive amounts of money.

There are many inexpensive date ideas you can use to win the heart of your latest crush. The following lists points out a couple great cheap first date plans:

• Give back to your community. Arrange a date where you and your sweetheart are volunteering for some important cause. This will allow you to get to know the other person and impress them with your altruism.

• Take your date to an art gallery or museum. While examining the art work you will have something to talk about. Since many art galleries and museums are free you won’t feel short-changed if you don’t get a second date.
